Of all of the types of machinery used in a mine, the haul truck has the biggest impact on its productivity and safety. This program is designed to teach your trainees how to be safe and productive when operating one of these massive workhorses.
The content of this course is focused on three key areas:
Lesson 1 - Hauling: In this lesson, trainees will learn about the two primary types of drive systems used to power haul trucks, a safe following distance between trucks, how to prevent tire damage or failure, managing truck speed on down grades, and what steps to follow if the haul truck gets stuck.
Lesson 2 - Loading: This lesson focuses on traffic patterns that trucks should follow when being loaded and proper truck positioning when being spotted by loading equipment.
Lesson 3 - Dumping: This lesson covers common dumping methods, how close a truck should get to the dump crest when dumping a load, and signals the truck operator needs to be familiar with when being spotted by a track dozer.
Trainers: Before you begin classroom or field training, why not provide your trainees with a solid foundation of knowledge about the equipment and how to operate it safety? This web-based training course can be delivered any time, anywhere you have access to a high-speed internet connection.
